Opera's and Hot Chocolate!

Laba diena!

Last weekend, I got the opportunity to attend my first opera with my host mom. I went to "The Marriage of Figaro" it is a comedy opera. The only downside to the night was that it was an Italian opera. So not knowing any Italian, I only understood a few words here and there. Luckily, there were subtitles...really though who would have thought to put subtitles with an opera, who ever did is brilliant! The subtiteles were located on the very top of the stage on a small screen. They were in both Lithuanian and English, luckily!

This opera, was a funny comedy sort of opera. It was a story about a maid and a male servant who are in love and wanting to get married, but they run into a few problems. One was because the Count loves the maid and the male survant is arranged to get married to a different lady, while this different lady turns out to be his.....MOTHER! Well, his long lost mother. Don't worry they didn't get married, he ends up marring the maid who he is in love with. So that pretty much sums up what it was about, a comedy love opera. Very good and I strongly recommend it! Just make sure you have subtitles or fully understand Italian.

Lastly, intermission! My second favorite part about going to the opera house! They have the worlds best hot chocolate! It is like rich melted chocolate! It is super sweet and absolutely to die for! It is one of my favorite things to get while at the Opera house, and I am looking forward to having it one more time when I go see Romeo and Juliet the ballet next month.

Have a wonderful night, and until next time. Peace out <3
